Visitamos diversos negocios y observamos cómo respaldaban a la comunidad hispana y latina mediante la defensa activa, colocando folletos informativos y compartiendo recursos de ayuda. New Paltz —al igual que muchos otros lugares en el Valle del Hudson— cuenta con una gran cantidad de recursos para la comunidad hispanohablante; SIN EMBARGO, muchas personas desconocen su existencia. Es importante que las empresas aboguen por su comunidad. A lo largo de nuestra investigación, recopilamos una lista de negocios que han abogado por la comunidad hispanohablante. ¡Aquí les presentamos nuestras conclusiones! We visited various businesses and observed how they supported the Hispanic and Latinx community through active advocacy—displaying informational flyers and sharing helpful resources. New Paltz—much like many other places in the Hudson Valley—boasts a wealth of resources for the Spanish-speaking community; HOWEVER, many people remain unaware of their existence. It is crucial for businesses to advocate on behalf of their community. Throughout our research, we compiled a list of businesses that have actively advocated for the Spanish-speaking community. Here are our findings! Elting Library: Spanish Conversation Group. Manny’s Art Supplies: «No borders, no language barriers.» Inquiring Minds Bookstore: Stance on ICE (no more deportations). Barners Bookstore: Language services and a specialized section. The Cat Cafe: Film screenings and a human rights panel (Amnesty Mid-Hudson)—plus an evening of Brazilian *choro* music! We were truly impressed by the diversity present in New Paltz. These flyers can be found in the windows of these establishments, as well as inside—simply ask for them! It is said that business owners in New Paltz are exceptionally friendly people. All of these locations are within easy walking distance and are highly accessible. Thank you for reading our articles!
